Pottery Project
Creativity, comfort and expression during treatment.
A different kind of support
Our Pottery Project gives children and families the opportunity to create something meaningful during their time in hospital. We work closely with hospital teams to ensure sessions are safe, flexible and tailored to each child’s needs.
Through hands-on creative sessions, we provide a calm and positive space where children can express themselves, feel distracted from treatment, and take home something special they’ve made.
Our Pottery co-ordinations bring:
-
A creative outlet away from treatment
-
A safe, relaxed environment
-
An opportunity to focus on something other than treatment
“It’s the number one activity for teens on the ward.”

Why the Pottery Project matters
Hospital stays can be long, repetitive and emotionally challenging. These sessions help children feel more relaxed, engaged and in control.
Our pottery sessions are designed to:
Provide a creative outlet
during challenging treatments.
Offer a break
from the clinical hospital environment.
Support mental wellbeing
and healthy emotional expression.
Positive effect
creating positive and lasting meaningful moments
What a session looks like
Each session is designed to be simple, calming and enjoyable. We ensure that our Pottery co-ordinations connect with children in a way that is completely separate from medical care.
-
Hands-on activities Engaging pottery and creative tasks for all ages
-
Total creative control Children can design, paint, and create their own unique pieces
-
Highly adaptable Sessions are adapted to the child's energy levels and treatment schedules
-
A relaxed environment A calming, supportive space away from clinical pressures
Children are encouraged to take their creations home, giving them something they can keep as a reminder of their strength and creativity.
A moment that matters
“It gave us something positive to focus on — a moment away from everything else.”
